Supported by the American Cancer Society, the Stem Cell & Cancer Research Lab directed by Dr. Yu-Chieh (Jack) Wang in the Department of Dermatology and Cancer Center at MCW is seeking a motivated and dedicated member to join their team. We are recruiting for a position of Postdoctoral Research Associate. Candidates with expertise in human pluripotent stem cells, organoids, systems biology (single-cell RNA sequencing in particular), tumor immunology, cell signaling, rodent models, biochemistry, and/or molecular biology are ideal. The successful candidate will work in a team-oriented environment to independently design and execute research projects strongly relevant to 1) tumorigenesis in melanoma and glioblastoma and/or 2) neurodevelopmental defects due to the dysregulation of N-glycanase 1 and other glycoenzymes. Key responsibilities for the successful candidate include:
• Design and carry out complex cell and molecular biology experiments.
• Perform live animal surgery in rodents and other relevant animal experiments when needed.
• Assist in development and implementation of research protocols.
• Record and compile accurate data of experimental results.
• Contribute to data analysis/interpretation and report/manuscript writing.
• Participate in meetings with the principal investigator and research staff as needed.
• May oversee the work of other laboratory personnel, including training, development, and daily work direction.
• Help monitor inventory and order lab supplies.
