The Position:

The Pomin lab at the Pharmacognosy division, Department of BioMolecular Sciences, School of Pharmacy, University of Mississippi, invites applications for a graduate research assistant. The Pomin lab conducts research in the fields of structural and medicinal glycobiology. Studies focus primarily on novel and complex sulfated glycans of unique structures and new biomedicinal functions, especially those extracted from marine organisms. The Pomin lab is multidisciplinary, and many fields like cancer biology, virology, blood coagulation, carbohydrate chemistry, structural biology, and medicinal glycobiology are studied. Students in the Pomin lab are trained in multiple analytical techniques, including nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, many methods of liquid chromatography, electrophoresis, cell-based assays, enzyme inhibition, and other complementary in silico, in vivo, and in vitro techniques.
