Senior postdoctoral Scientist
Location: La Jolla, CA Organization: Sanford Children's Health Research Center
Our laboratory studies mammalian monosaccharide metabolism, with particular emphasis on L-fucose and its relevance to patients affected by rare Congenital Disorders of Glycosylation (CDGs).We seek to recruit a senior postdoctoral scientist with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in mammalian cell glycobiology.
The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in biochemical, molecular, and metabolic approaches, together with the ability to analyze, interpret, and integrate complex datasets. A solid publication record is expected, including senior-author or equivalent contributions demonstrating metabolic flux or tracer studies, ideally using LC-MS and/or GC-MS, to follow labeled precursors into multiple downstream products and to infer mechanisms of cellular regulation. A deep, working understanding of metabolic pathways and their interactions is essential. A strong background in chemistry, proteomics, glycomics, and some experience in glycoproteomics, is highly desirable.
Candidates should also have substantial hands-on experience with standard molecular biology techniques, including cloning, sequencing, and CRISPR-based genome editing, and must demonstrate clear and effective communication skills in both written and spoken English.
Due to current uncertainties in U.S. visa policies, applications are limited to candidates already authorized to work in the United States.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and scholarly productivity.
How to apply: Interested candidates should submit a curriculum vitae and the names and contact information of at least three references to: [email protected]
