Postdoctoral Position in Cancer BiologyA Postdoctoral fellow position is immediately available in Dr. Praveen Agrawal's laboratory in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Our laboratory studies change in the cellular glycosylation associated with tumor progression, metastasis, and resistance to targeted therapy in melanoma and prostate cancer. We use a powerful combination of methods, including cutting-edge glycomics techniques, systems biology, in vitro/in vivo functional screens, and in vivo mouse models of metastasis that aim to discover molecular mechanisms driven by changes in glycosylation that can be developed into translational applications. The postdoc will lead a project to investigate the role of glycosylation in the tropism of melanoma metastasis. Our relevant publications include Cancer Cell, PMID: 28609658, Nat. Commun., PMID: 33619278, Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A PMID: 24591635, Mol Cell, PMID: 29149598, Cancer Cell, PMID: 29153843, Curr Protoc Chem Biol. 2013, PMID: 23788322. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related areas and have independent research abilities with a strong research interest, self-motivation, and work effectively with a team. They will be provided sufficient support and freedom to ask important research questions and independently develop innovative research projects. Albert Einstein College of Medicine is located in a quiet, residential area in the northeast section of the Bronx borough of New York City. It provides a tight-knit, culturally diverse community close to many popular Bronx attractions and easy access to Manhattan and Westchester County. Einstein has long been recognized as one of the nation's premier institutions for medical education, basic research, and clinical investigation. As a longstanding national leader in biomedical research, Einstein has more than 300 research laboratories, 3,000 faculty and staff, 710 medical students, 160 Ph.D. students, and 265 postdoctoral fellows. It offers many exciting career opportunities for individuals dedicated to biomedical research. Successful applicants will be offered a generous NIH guideline-based salary and benefits, including College-owned postdoctoral housing in a pleasant residential neighborhood near the medical school. The Belfer Institute for Advanced Biomedical Studies at Einstein also provides postdoctoral researchers with the best scientific and social environment and convenient housing options. With a description of research experience and contact information for three references, curriculum vitae should be sent to Principal Investigator: Praveen Agrawal, Ph.D. Praveen Agrawal, Ph.D.
