Postdoc openings Neelamegham Laboratory, State University of New York, Buffalo, NY
The Neelamegham laboratory, within the departments of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Medicine (SUNY-Buffalo, NY), works on a variety of research problems related to human inflammatory diseases, thrombosis, and virology. We apply molecular engineering principles including gene editing and high-throughput methods. We currently have two open positions for post-doctoral scientists interested in pursuing a career in Translational Glycosciences and GlycoEngineering. This involves the study of complex mammalian carbohydrates decorating all cells, and the pathways that synthesize them in the context of human health and disease. Positions are open both for wet-lab Experimentalists interested in bench research at the cell/molecular/animal levels and Computational Scientists interested in big data applications. While prior experience in Glycosciences is not critical, interest is necessary. Ideal candidate would have Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, bioengineering, computational sciences, molecular engineering, biomedical sciences, or related disciplines. Additional requirements include prior track record in research, peer-review publications, and good communication skills. Candidates are encouraged to send a cover letter including a summary of prior research experience, full CV and names/contacts of three references to Prof. Sriram Neelamegham
