Important Update to the 2021 GRC Schedule:Glycobiology GRC/GRS

Dear Colleague,

We hope that you have remained safe and well during this difficult time.

In light of the continued uncertainty surrounding the vaccine rollout plan in the US and around the world, the GRC Board of Trustees surveyed all 2021 conference chairs to determine their preference to either defer the meeting to 2023 or reschedule the meeting to the fall of 2021. The GRC Board approved the chair request to defer the 2021 Glycobiology GRC / GRS to 2023. Although it is not ideal to withdraw another season of conferences, we believe that it is the best course of action at this time.

If you have already completed your registration for the upcoming conference, GRC will provide a full refund of your registration fee. The 2023 meeting will be held at a comparable date and location, and the schedule will be developed and posted in the coming months. We will announce the new dates at that time and you will be able to resubmit your application to the 2023 meeting. In order to maintain a cutting-edge program in 2023, please keep in mind that the 2021 invited participants and program content may change.

The GRC Board and staff extensively considered virtual alternatives, and ultimately determined that there is not a single platform that can replicate the unique format, community engagement, and value of our in-person meetings. However, in an effort to stay connected during this time, we launchedGRC Connects, to provide opportunities to connect and collaborate with GRC colleagues until we resume in-person conferences. We will be working with chairs on potential virtual opportunities so please check our website for future events related to your community.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming back our communities in 2022 and 2023! Our 2022 conference schedule is posted on our website.

Thank you for being a part of GRC’s community and for your continued support during these challenging times.

Best regards and stay well,
Nancy on behalf of the GRC Board of Trustees
