Postdoctoral fellow in glycobiology and human genetics at GWU (Washington, DC)
Contact: Chiara Manzini cmanzini@gwu.edu

Description:
The Manzini lab is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic post-doctoral fellow interested in using a combination of human genetics and animal models to study the mechanisms of neurodevelopmental and neuromuscular disorders. Our works stems from human mutations severely affecting brain development and cognitive function, and focuses on studying the interactions between the extracellular matrix and its neuronal receptors in a group of muscular dystrophies associated with brain malformations.
Please visit our website www.manzinilab.org for more details on our research.

We believe in innovative, multi-disciplinary and question-driven science, and promote an atmosphere of open communication and collaboration inside and outside the lab. Graduate experience in human genetics, zebrafish genetics or glycobiology is preferred, but experience in neuronal cell biology, structural biology and biochemistry will also be considered. There will be numerous opportunities for training to complement current skills. A history of publication in human genetics, glycobiology or neurobiology is also preferred. Position is fully funded for at least 2 years.
