The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of California, San Francisco is recruiting for an Assistant Professional Researcher. This position entails optimization and application of sample enrichment and separations coupled with mass spectrometric methodology for studies in neuro- glycobiology. It requires two years experience in the application of lectin affinity chromatography with electron transfer dissociation mass spectrometry for the structural analysis of protein glycosylation. This includes determination of both the sites of O-linked N-acetylglucosamine glycosylation and the structures of N-linked glycosylation. Finally the successful applicant must have a journeyman level knowledge of bioinformatic technologies for the extraction of biological insight from the datasets obtained from these studies.
Applicants must have a PhD in Cell Biology. A track record of independent research, completion of post- doctoral fellowship, experience in academic research, and an established record of productivity and motivation (e.g. publications, meeting presentations, etc.) is preferred.
