Membership Form and User Profile
The Society for Glycobiology is a scholarly society devoted to the pursuit of knowledge of glycan structures and functions, and to the sharing of that knowledge among scientists worldwide. Individuals with professional interests in glycobiology are enthusiastically invited to join the Society.
Benefits of Membership:
- Subscription to the Society journal, Glycobiology, at a reduced price.
- Reduced registration fees for Society meetings.
- Access to member-only areas of the Society’s web site, http://glycobiology.org
- Voting privileges for Society elections for officers and awards.
- Access to Travel Awards, networking, employment bulletin boards.
- Participation in Society public policy activities.
Membership Classes:
- Regular Member: the standard form of membership in the Society. Requires demonstration of an established publication record or contribution to the field of Glycobiology.
- Student Member: Graduate students working on a glycobiology-related project or with a background related to glycobiology are welcome to apply. Requires an acknowledgement from a faculty mentor that the student is working under the mentor’s supervision and is considered appropriate for membership in the Society.
- Emeritus Member: Members of the Society who have retired and are no longer remunerated by their institutions may request Emeritus Membership status with reduced fees.
Membership renewal for present members:
If you were a prior member of the Society please use the login form on the upper right of this page to access your web account (password reminder is available on the page), then reload the MEMBERSHIP FORM and USER PROFILE link on the left menubar. Check and update your profile information and click RENEW MEMBERSHIP. Please remember: you can not check your payment history or renew your membership if you have not logged into the site.
Initiating a new membership:
Initiate your membership by clicking HERE and then click REGISTER FOR MEMBERSHIP on the upper middle of the page. New regular members receive a $15 discount on the membership fee!!! Students only pay for the journal.
Fee structure for Society membership:
Society membership runs on a calendar year (Jan. 1 – Dec. 31). Fees paid prior to Sept. 1, 2010 will apply to the 2010 calendar year. Fees paid after Sept. 1, 2010 will apply to the 2011 calendar year.
Reduced member rates for registration at the 2010 annual meeting of the Society for Glycobiology will be provided to members whose dues are paid for either the 2010 or the 2011 calendar year prior to the advanced registration deadline (October 1, 2010).
All memberships include a paid subscription to Glycobiology, the journal of the Society for Glycobiology (your choice of electronic only or electronic plus hardcopy). The journal subscription is part of the membership fee and is not optional. Applications for membership without payment of the subscription fee will not be accepted.
New Regular Member incentive: $15 discount for the first-year of regular membership.
Multi-year discount: Lock in current membership rates for three years.
